All-in-One Door 2

update

We are super excited to finally release the All-in-One Door v2, which is a big release, including lots of changes and improvements, so let's get started with the biggest change first ...

Separate families

The All-in-One Door family used to be one single family (like all the other All-in-One Families we offer).

Having various frame types within one single family adds complexity and effects the performance, which is why we have split the All-in-One Door family into 4 separate families:

  • Block Frame
  • Corner Frame
  • Closure Frame
  • Closure Frame Sliding

For the new single (frame) purpose families, that means a massive performance increase of 3x.

Size Types

The new Size Type parameter allows you to switch between 5 types of how to apply the width & height dimensions.

  • Clear passage
  • Reveal
  • Leaf
  • Overall
  • Rough (structural) Opening

Shared parameters

We've added the following shared parameters:

  • .Actual Unit Width
  • .Actual Unit Height

Fixes

Rough Width/Height

Previously, the Width and Height parameters were used for clear and rough scenarious only. The switch between those two use cases happened via the Clear Opening parameter, which has now been replaced by the new Size Type parameter. The Rough Width and Rough Height parameters are calculated parameters that can be used for door schedules.

With this new Size Type parameter we've also fixed an issue that would result in a wrong value for Rough Height. Starting with this version, you can get the Width and Height values applied as rough distances by setting Size Type to 5.

Before

After

Frame

Rough Distance Top/Left/Right

We've fixed an issue for closure and corner (wood) frames where the rough distance would be applied between inner side of the frame and wall.

That issue meant that the frame width needed to be taken into account when setting Rough Distance Top, Rough Distance Left and Rough Distance Right.

Frame Width Exterior/Interior

We've fixed an issue for closure and corner (metal) frames where the setting Frame Width Interior and Frame Width Exterior would result in wrong frame dimensions.

Frame Depth

We've changed the way how the Frame Depth 3 would be applied. Previously it was applied from the first or second rabbet, which required the manual calcualtion of the actual frame depth.

Frame Exterior/Interior Position

We've fixed an issue where the frame position would stay on the host wall when using the parameters Void Exterior Offset and Void Interior Offset with joined walls.

Panel

Panel Overlapping

We've fixed an issue realted to the overlapping of double door panels, when the number of rabbets was > 0.

Glass

We've fixed an issue where changing the Door Glass Position From Exterior parameter would change the panel thickness.

Hinge

We've fixed an issue where a confusing line would be shown for the hinges in elevation. We've also changed the category for the hinge visibility from Panel to Accessories.

Handle

We've fixed an issue where Door Lever Handle Depth 2 couldn't be set to 0.

Threshold

We've added the new parameter Threshold Front Height (which was previously calculated) and also fixed an issue with min/max values.

Other improvements and changes

Panel

Panel thickness

We've simplified the process of setting the panel thickness.
In particular:

  • when parameter Door Flush is enable, the panel thickness is now consistent with frame rabbet depth.
  • when parameter Door Flush is disable, the panel thickness is now consistent with Door Thickness. In this case there is no need to use the parameter Door Panel Frame Offset.

Parameters

Order

Almost all parameters (except Height and Width which are at the top of the list) are now organized in logical, alphabetical and numerical ordered groups which should greatly simplify the usage.
